Sun Goes Down II

The light in this photo is amazing and the fact that this image was not doctored makes it all the more impressive. You feel as if you could be standing in the piece, making the capture more personal or intimate.

The sky itself dominates the shot, but is subdued by a misty air quality and not overpowering of the ground and landscape below. The cloud that sweeps beneath and around the sun frames it and leads your eye to distant mountains and a sprawling grassland lined with trees. The weight of all the natural elements (mountains, hill and trees) that is on the left is balanced by a dimness on the right, giving the work an overall good composition. Also, one can appreciate the spareness of human construction (roads, poles, buildings) in this landscape.
